Welcome...
This is the portfolio of Bradford J Hilton.
I like to be creative.
In sixth grade, I took apart my teacher’s computer. Next came my parents’ lawnmower. After learning some lessons about other peoples’ property, I learned how much I loved technology. Over the course of the next few years, I took apart just about everything I could, with mixed results on reassembly.
In high school, I first felt the inspiration of growing up in a house owned by an art teacher and a professional potter. Through an instant love of photography and graphic design, I began to use computers to speak in ways my hands never could.
Software skills: Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Motion, Final Cut Studio, Logic Studio, Flash, Indesign, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Keynote, Dreamweaver, Coda, Lightroom, Parallels, Aperture
In college, this growing relationship evolved basic graphic design to motion graphics, 3D animation, and video editing and film production. With a creative mind and a love for art and music, I figured out how I could live a life rooted in these passions.
My path began at a company that helped start a video editing revolution, Avid Technologies. I worked under a master editor, learning the art of an edit. From the cut points and camera angles to the lighting and everything in between, I learned that there is (and always should be) a reason for every choice a director makes, and every aspect of a video is important, right down to the pace, mood, and music. A four-month internship turned into full time job.
From Avid, I moved to the Burlington Apple Store, where I learned more than I ever thought I would. As a “creative,” I trained customers in one-on-one sessions and full store presentations on nearly everything relating to Apple computers. After two and a half years, I had established myself as a go-to person, managing the systems on the floor, maintaining the wireless networks, training employees, and even repairing computers and helping out on the sales floor when needed. I learned about as much as anyone could there, but I decided it was time to work for a new employer- myself.

I started my own business as a freelancer, using my variety of knowledge to help clients with pretty much anything they needed. One day I was helping a grandmother use her e-mail, the next day I was creating a new website for an orthodontist in need of a web presence, and the next day I was updating and completely re-branding a website for a multi-million dollar water pump business. After three years of working on different projects, I was hired by one of my busiest clients. Under the guidance of someone with 20 years of media production experience, we formed KFP Media in January of 2010.
I helped grow and establish KFP with not only my creative skills but my business ones. I learned to listen to client needs and talk with them. Creating a collaborative process that ended up being mutually beneficial for everyone involved. One of these clients was Monster Worldwide, or Monster.com as most people know them. They had an investor meeting in New York and were launching a huge new product but were in a pickle. They couldn't demo it due to legal issues. I was brought in a week before the meeting, literally brought in. I brought in my computer, setup up a temporary office in one of their conference rooms and started plucking away. A week later I was in New York were I was introduced to the CEO of Monster and was a liaison to the production company, making sure all the presentation decks and equipment were right. After the CIO delivered my presentation He told me had a need for a guy like me, 8 months later Monster Called.
I've worked at Monster since July 2010 and have pushed and tested not only myself but the others around me. I produced the iPhone app launch video, countless decks for conventions, investor and board meetings. Most Recently I helped launched BeKnown, a professional network built on top a Facebook. With guided tours, design influence and even the building and writing for the BeKnown Blog, I was an interregnal part of the team.
I hope to continue developing my knowledge of technology and implementation of various forms of media to help people achieve whatever they need, through hard work, creativity, and most importantly, heart.
A walk home
"When we hope, we usually hope for the wrong thing. We yearn for tomorrow and the progress that it represents. But yesterday was once tomorrow, and where was the progress in it? Or we yearn for yesterday, for what was or what might have been. But as we are yearning, the present is becoming the past, so the past in nothing but our yearning for second chances."
I've always liked the story of Noah's Ark and the idea of starting a new by rescuing the things you like and leaving the rest behind.
